Maple Oat Chewies

Ingredients


1 cup
Sugar
1 cup
Brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup
Butter, softened
1 tablespoon
Molasses
2 teaspoons
Maple extract
2
Eggs
1 ¾ cups
Flour, all-purpose
2 teaspoons
Baking powder
1 teaspoon
Cinnamon
½ teaspoon
Salt
2 cups
Rolled oats
2 cups
Crisp rice cereal

Directions


Heat oven to 350°. Grease cookie sheets. In large bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add molasses, maple extract and eggs; blend well. Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt; beat at medium speed until well blended. Stir in rolled oats and cereal. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 8 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets.

Notes


One cup butterscotch chips can be added with rolled oats and cereal, if desired.
